08:06 am - This journal has moved!
I've copied my journal over to Dreamwidth. Same username there as here.

I will not be posting here any more, as the new terms of service do not float my boat.

Not sure if I will actually delete this journal, leave a placeholder, or just leave the whole thing where it lies...

See you on the other side!

(Comments will be screened, just because. So feel free.)

09:00 am - FYI - I am also on Dreamwidth now
Hello to my regular readers (all 6 of you)!.

I have created an account on Dreamwidth - same username as here. Feel free to friend me, or add me to your circle or whatever it is.

So far I only have 1 user icon (a Joshua tree against a blue sky) and 1 entry (public). Such is my level of organization and energy these days.

I am not sure if I will keep posting here now that LJ has moved their servers to Russia. Given how little I've been posting, it's not really a problem... yet...

See you there!

09:33 pm - Still in shock
Shocked and saddened by the sudden death of radioactiverich last week.

We lost touch after I left Boston in 2002, but I will always have a soft spot in my heart for him. He was friendly, and smart, and goofy, and willing to try anything once (twice if he liked it, three times to make sure). We all thought for sure he was indestructible.

I miss you, Radioactive Rich.

07:46 pm - Back issue help?
My Google fu is failing me. Is there any way I can order a back issue of The World Of Cross Stitching (specifically issue 209) with a credit card and have it shipped to the US? I guess I could check eBay (although I don't yet have an account).

cross posted, appropriately, to cross_stitch

08:22 pm - Things you talk about (or not)
Food is the new politics, the new religion. I can usually get away with discussing it with my friends. My friends' friends, on the other hand, are CRAZY.

10:12 pm - We have moved!
Send me an email (firstname at lastname dot net) if you want the new contact infoz. If you have any pointers to me in Torrance, they are no longer valid. My cell phone has NOT changed. :-)

08:15 pm - ... and happy birthday to me, part 2
Well, last night's dinner was perfectly lovely at the time. Sadly, something in it (or some combination of eating ALL THE THINGS) did not agree with me, which kept me up half the night.

So, today was a low-key day of work and not eating much. I was very glad to have Stuart drive me to work and back. I'm bummed about missing a free dinner at Javier's; but at best, it would have been a waste of good food, and at worst it could have provoked a repeat of last night.

I'm feeling a bit better, still not 100%, and more than a little short on sleep. Well, this year can only improve, right?
